An archaeological discovery in 1979 revealed a verse from Numbers 6:24-26 , appeared to be the earliest biblical passage ever found in ancient artifacts.
The amulet scroll can now be seen in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

I know some of you have purchased "Eusebius" on my recommendation. There aren't very many of them left on Amazon but you can find used ones. Know that you have to wade through about the first 25 pages, and then the real story will kick in. One book I ordered was very thick, which told me it had Vol. 3, 4, 5, in the one book. Just read until it gets out of the post New Testament times. Remember to create your own concordance in the fly leaf cover of the book, so you can find important ideas  in the future!

Dear Friends,

Just a note to let you know there will be no conference calls next week for the lesson on "Substance" because I'll be traveling and giving a couple of talks at the International Nurses' Conference at Cedar's Camp. I will pick it up again for the lesson on 'Matter'.   There will be a blog on "Substance."

IDEAS ON THE LESSON:

This lesson is filled with references on image and likeness and reflection.  I have wrestled with this concept for quite a while, and I'm going to share some of my notes on it. There are quite a few, so just pick one or two.  The purpose is to expand this concept, to let it unfold and grow. This is one of the fundamental building blocks of Christian Science, and so important to our understanding of it.

More Ideas on "Christ Jesus for August 27, 2017

Dear Friends,

I apologize for sending out another blog post in the same week, but as I've been studying, more has come to light (as it should), and I feel impelled to share what is coming to me. If this is too much, please just delete this post.

Truth, Life, and Love are formidable, wherever thought, felt, spoken, or written, — in the pulpit, in the court-room, by the wayside, or in our homes. They are the victors never to be vanquished.

My 185:10-14

All throughout this Lesson I see words that are connected to the theme of the spoken word:

For example: words that I speak; Jesus cried; hear my words; receiveth not my words; spoken of myself; what I should say- what I should speak; spoken unto you; he shall teach you; whatsoever I have said unto you.

(and these are just in the Responsive Reading)  
Search for every phrase in the lesson that speaks to this theme! Even the healing of the deaf and dumb, and Jesus speaking the word to the man with the unclean devil. It is everywhere!

Letter to those who read the blog - from Kathy

Dear Friends, Next week I will be out of town and will not be doing a blog for "Soul and Body."

I will pick it up again for "Ancient and Modern . . ." for the week May 28, 2017, doing it for that week and the next Lesson on "God the Only Cause . . . " After that, starting in June,  I will no longer be working for Principia. I am still not sure if the blog will continue or not. I'll let you know as it unfolds.

From June 4 to 14, I am taking a group to Israel  with my sister, Kristy Christian, and I'm going on a tour of Europe to study the Reformation until the middle of July. In between, I'll also be teaching  the second week of Summer Session at Principia College, June 19 - 23.

After late July, I will be working for Peace Haven Association in St. Louis. I'll be doing Lesson reading times for them and the broader community, but I'm still not sure about continuing the blog.
